#32A big, hairy spider!

#34Laura screeched.

#36It's too big, said Luke.

#37I'm afraid to touch it!

#38Everybody laughed.

#39There's no spider, said Joy.

#40Luke, stop teasing.

#41Okay, said Luke.

#42There are no spiders on this wagon.

#43And I hope there aren't any black snakes either!

#44Olivia punched Luke's arm.

#45That was a very big black snake, and it wanted to bite me!

#46That's not what I heard, said Larry.

#47I heard you scared it to death!

#48Everyone laughed again.

#49What a day that was, said Joy.

#50First, my helper got hurt.

#51Then, the price of walnuts dropped—again!

#52I thought I would never reach my goal.

#53What did you do?

#54asked AJ.

#55Well, I just kept picking walnuts, said Joy.

#56But Katie and Olivia called Luke, Larry, Laura, and Carlos.

#57They all showed up on Sunday morning to help me.

#58Me too, said Manny.

#59Yes!

#60You too, said Joy.

#61With so many people, we were able to fill the cart quickly, said Olivia.

#62Whenever the cart was full, Mr. Donovan and Joy took it to the nut-buying station, said Laura.

#63We fliled the cart three times.

#64I did better than my goal, said Joy.

#65I earned one hundred eleven dollars and fifty- five cents!

#81The kids sang, and Mr. Ferguson drove into the woods.

#86It's AJ's dad, cried Katie.

#87You're finally here, shouted Mr. Morgan, AJ and Emily's dad.

#88I thought I might have to roast the hot dogs all by myself.

#89Everyone jumped out of the hay wagon.

#90Welcome to AJ's birthday bonfire!

#92Who wants hot apple cider?

#93AJ has to make a birthday wish!

#95I can't tell you my birthday wish, said AJ.

#97Joy smiled at the little boy.
