#37Now the hunter was afraid of him.

#47Bldaeo limped away to the village as fast as he could.

#48Every few minutes, he looked back nervously.

#51Mowgli and the others finished preparing the tiger's hide.

#53Then he gathered the buffalo herd

#54and took them back to the village.

#55As he approached, bells clanged loudly.

#56Half the village seemed to be waiting for him by the gate.

#57The villagers are happy that I killed the tiger!

#58Mowgli said to himself proudly,

#59They must be waiting to thank me!

#60Instead, a shower of stones whistled past Mowgli's ears.

#61Angry shouts rose.

#62Sorcerer!

#63Jungle demon!

#64Shoot him, Bldaeo!

#65The old gun went off with a bang.

#66But the bullet missed Mowgli, striking a buffalo instead.

#67The boy just used magic again.

#68A villager shouted.

#69He turned that bullet around with magic.

#70The villagers threw more stones at Mowgli.

#71He ducked, trying not to panic.

#72Akayla and Grey Brother ran to his sides.

#73This is just like the wolf pack.

#74Akayla said,

#75They want you gone, Mowgli.

#76Last time I was told to leave because I'm a human.

#77Mowgli sighed.

#78This time it is because I am a wolf.

#79Thus then, Meswa ran out from the crowd.

#81Mowgli ducked as more stones whizzed by his head.

#82I'm not a sorcerer, Meswa.

#84You must go away before they hurt you.

#86A few people pumped their fists in the air.

#90Mowgli quickly hugged Meswa.

#92Then, he and the two wolves ran away from the people's village.
