#31If you want to see it all, you have to be quiet.

#32Everything in the palace sparkled.

#33Paintings of the king were on the walls and ceilings.

#34The furniture was covered in gold and velvet.

#35There are about 700 rooms in Versailles, Helene explained.

#36She stopped in front of huge double doors.

#37Helene looked around.

#38She wanted to make sure no one was watching.

#39And this room is the most beautiful of all!

#40cried Helene.

#41It's my favorite!

#42She opened the double doors wide.

#43Vinnie and Mandy followed her inside.

#44Their mouths dropped open.

#45It was a large hall.

#46There were 17 glass doors that looked out to the gardens.

#47On the walls were large decorated mirrors.

#48This is the Hall of Mirrors.

#49It has 357 mirrors!

#50said Helene.

#51King Louis meets very important people in here.

#52I make believe this is my dancing room.

#53Helene twirled across the floor.

#54She did not see two guards with long spears enter the hall.

#55You children!

#56one shouted.

#57In the name of His Royal Highness, stop!

#58Uh-oh!

#59Helene stopped dancing.

#60Follow me!

#61Helene led the children down a hallway.

#62Along the walls, gold statues held up crystal lights.

#63Stop! yelled the other guard.

#64The guards ran after them.

#65What happens if they catch us?

#67Don't worry, giggled Helene.

#68We can get away through the gardens.

#69But we'll have to hide first!

#70Helene turned a corner and went into a room.

#71Lace and ostrich feathers were everywhere.

#72A group of women sat sewing.

#76Helene blew the woman a kiss.

#77Then she led the children out another door.

#80gasped Mandy.

#83Suddenly, he bumped into a woman, and her head rolled off.
