#29The sultan smiled at the grand vizier, and Zeba frowned, bowed, and left the hall.

#30Aladdin's mother walked home, shaking her head.

#32Can he return to the enchanted treasury and pick more jewels?

#33She sighed.

#34And where will he find twenty warriors?

#35I told you this wouldn't work, said Zeba when she got home.

#36The son of a tailor cannot marry a sultan's daughter.

#37Then she told Aladdin everything that had happened in the sultan's hall.

#38It's all the fault of that grand vizier! she cried with a shake of her fist.

#39Aladdin just laughed.

#40Mother, he said, the sultan thinks that he has asked for an impossible thing.

#41But it's not impossible!

#42It's not? replied Zeba.

#43It's easy! said Aladdin.

#44Go to the bazaar and buy us something special for our evening meal.

#45While you are gone, I will take care of everything.

#46Zeba did as he asked.

#47When she returned, she found twenty warriors crowded into her little house.

#48Each one held a bowl of pure gold, and each bowl was full of jewels!

#49The genie did this! she cried.

#50Thanks be to God for the wonderful lamp!

#51Aladdin opened the door and sent the warriors out into the street.

#52Now, Mother, said Aladdin, I want you to go to the palace one more time.

#53Deliver these warriors to the sultan.

#54Zeba led the twenty warriors to the palace and into the sultan's hall.

#55They all bowed to the sultan and set their bowls before him.

#56And now what do you say, Grand Vizier? the sultan asked.

#57Is Aladdin worthy of my daughter?

#58The sultan's adviser was speechless.

#59Hear me, good woman! said the sultan to Zeba.

#60Aladdin will marry Princess Badra!

#61Go and tell him this news.

#62And tell him to come to me at once.

#63I want to meet my future son-in-law!
