#16Princess Badra is to be married tomorrow, cried Zeba.

#17To the vizier's son!

#18But she was promised to me, said Aladdin.

#19I must stop the wedding.

#20How? asked Zeba.

#21Don't worry, said Aladdin.

#22Princess Badra will not marry anyone but me!

#23Aladdin went to his room and locked the door.

#24He took the lamp from its hiding place under some cushions.

#25He rubbed the lamp until smoke swirled around the room.

#26The genie of the wonderful lamp is back! said the cheerful genie.

#27Your wish is my command!

#28Oh, genie of the lamp, go to the palace! ordered Aladdin.

#29When Princess Badra is alone, bring her to me.

#30I hear and obey! said the genie and disappeared in a blink.

#31An hour later, the genie returned with Princess Badra in his arms.

#32Put me down! yelled the princess.

#33I hear and obey, laughed the genie and dropped her on the floor.

#34Ow! cried the princess, rubbing her backside.

#35She stood up, shaking with anger.

#36Who are you?

#37I am the genie of the wonderful Silence! she cried, stamping her foot.

#38Then she noticed Aladdin.

#39Who are you? she asked in a softer voice.

#40I am Aladdin, he said.

#41I am going to be your husband.

#42You? laughed the princess.

#43That's strange.

#44I thought I was marrying Kasim tomorrow.

#45You see, my young friends, Princess Badra did not want to marry Kasim.

#46They had been children together in the palace.

#47Kasim had always been lazy and mean to everyone.

#48But Princess Badra saw that Aladdin was handsome and seemed kind.

#49Your father promised you to me, said Aladdin.

#50Well, my father listens too much to that awful vizier, she replied.

#51That is why I must marry his silly son.

#52Do not marry him, Princess, said Aladdin.

#53No one could ever love you as I do.

#54Suddenly the princess felt the air become hot, and the room began to spin.
