#27I was weak so the string felt heavy.

#28My friends had to leave me.

#29I was able to keep going alone for a while.

#30One day my wings wouldn't carry me and I fell.

#31When I opened my eyes again I saw you.

#32It's my fault.

#33Cried Thumbelina.

#34No, it's not.

#35Said Pete.

#36We're friends and friends help each other, right?

#37So thank you for helping me, Thumbelina.

#38You're welcome.

#39Thumbelina said shyly.

#40Now that you're better, we need to make a plan.

#41I'm still a little weak.

#42Pete said Thumbelina pointed to the hole above them.

#58Then another shape appeared on the other side of the tunnel.

#62It's alive, Mr. Rufus.

#63Bride, Mrs. Gray.

#64That bird is not dead.

#66Mr. Rufus said, shaking his head.

#67Well, never mind.

#68It won't be alive for long.

#69What do you mean?

#70Asked Thumbelina.

#71Slim's coming.

#72Said Mr. Rufus, looking up.

#73I told him to meet me here.

#74Suddenly, the ground above them began to shake.

#75Dirt fell on their heads.

#76The coyote had arrived.
