#44I'm so proud of you, cried Aunt Martha.

#45When everyone had left, the children fol pped onto the sofa.

#46Outside it was getting dark.

#47I guess people here aren't that bad, said Panther.

#48But after the sun sets, they'll forget what happened, Bobby said in a sad voice.

#49They'll forget all about us, Cy added.

#50At least we know people can be nice, Jane said.

#51The children watched as the sun disappeared.

#52A sharp knock on the door startled them.

#53Cy opened the door.

#54It was Farmer Jenkins.

#55I brought some homemade jam for our heroes, he said, smiling.

#56Huh?

#57Bobby was confused.

#58What for?

#59asked Panther cautiously.

#60She still remembered how much jam they owed Farmer Jenkins.

#61For helping to catch the robbers, the farmer chuckled.

#62I hope you kids enjoy this.

#63He handed the jars to Cy then waved good-bye.

#64The children looked at the jam guiltily.

#65Why did he remember the robbery?

#66Bobby was still confused, looking outside at the dark.

#81We got to meet many new people, said Cy.

#82So maybe the bank robbery wasn't the wish, said Huey.

#83I don't understand, said Bobby.

#84How did it feel to meet new people?

#85asked Huey.

#86The children were thoughtful.

#87Finally Bobby answered.

#88It was kind of exciting, he said.

#89Maybe that was your wish.

#90Huey spread his hands like a magician.

#91But the wish ended yesterday, said Jane.

#92Will they stop being our friends now?

#93That depends on you, said Huey.
