#34The Centrosaurus did not know the children were watching him.

#35He continued to eat the leaves off the trees and plants.

#37Jane said in a tiny voice.

#38Cy nodded.

#39But if we don't bother him, we would be safe.

#40So Huey gave you your wish, said Panther.

#41At that moment, the Centrosaurus lifted his head and sniffed the air.

#42He grunted loudly and pawed the ground.

#43Uh-oh, said Cy, I think he can smell us.

#44What do we do?

#45asked Bobby.

#46Everybody move back slowly.

#47Slowly now, Cy said in a calm voice.

#48The children stepped back deeper into the woods.

#49Safely away from the dinosaur, Cy jumped up in excitement.

#50This must be the Cretaceous period, he said.

#51These dinosaurs lived over 130 million years ago.

#52The children's eyes grew wide with interest—except for Lamb's.

#53His eyes were getting heavy.

#54It's his nap time, Panther whispered.

#55Lamb was soon fast asleep in her arms.

#56Cy found a safe, dry spot under a tree.

#57Panther gently placed Lamb there.

#58Let's go see more dinosaurs, Cy said.

#59We can't leave him, argued Panther.

#60We won't go far, said Cy.

#61Just around that tree.

#62Panther admitted that seeing the giant creatures was very fascinating.

#63She kept a close eye on Lamb but followed Cy.

#64That one is an iguanodon, Cy said, pointing to a creature with a long, stiff tail.

#65That one has a duck's bill, giggled Jane.

#66She indicated a tall dinosaur with short arms.

#67That's a Corythosaurus, Cy said.

#68It looks like he's wearing a helmet.

#69Bobby laughed aloud.

#70He was referring to the crest on its head.

#71The children would have watched the dinosaurs longer, but something terrible had happened.

#72Cy, where's Lamb?

#73Panther cried.

#74They looked back where Lamb had been sleeping.
