#20Then he ran to the girls' room.

#21That room was filled with old boxes and books.

#23Bobby shouted gleefully.

#24He danced around, rejoicing that he was alone.

#25Bobby had often wondered what it would be like to have no brothers or sisters.

#26Never having to share, wait, or take turns.

#27Now no one can tell me what to do!

#29What do you think you're doing?

#30a voice from behind said sharply.

#31Bobby whirled around to face his aunt.

#32He ran and gave her a hug.

#33Aunt Martha!

#34Am I glad to see you!

#36What's the matter with you?

#38asked Aunt Martha.

#39She put her hand on Bobby's forehead.

#40I'm perfectly fine, laughed Bobby.

#41Glad to hear it, replied Aunt Martha, because we've got a lot to do.

#42She handed Bobby the vacuum cleaner.

#43You can start by vacuuming the living room downstairs.

#44Don't miss any spots!

#45Okay, Aunt Martha, Bobby answered, a little less happy.

#46As Bobby vacuumed the living room, a memory popped into his head.

#47He and Cy used to pretend that the vacuum was a monster.

#48Cy would chase him around shouting, He's going to suck you up!

#49Bobby had to admit that his brother wasn't always bad.

#50They did have some fun times together.

#51Aunt Martha walked in.

#52What's taking you so long?

#53she said, putting on her coat.

#56Aunt Martha shook her head.

#59We're going to Mr. Keefer's.

#60Mr. Keefer owned the little grocery in town.

#61Panther and Jane used to love going there because Mr. Keefer always gave them candy.

#62Whenever the girls got home, Jane would always show off her candy to her brothers.

#65she would say, popping a cherry candy into her mouth.

#66But Panther would hold out the bag to Bobby and say, Here, Bobby, take some of mine.

#67Bobby walked fast to keep up with Aunt Martha as they headed toward the grocery.

#68I'm going to get the vegetables, Aunt Martha said when they got to Mr. Keefer's.

#69Here is the list.

#70You get the other things and I'll meet you at the cashier.

#71Bobby looked helplessly at the list.

#73, he began.

#74But Aunt Martha had already disappeared down an aisle.

#75Unsweetened canned corn, read Bobby.

#76He searched up and down the aisle but could not figure out where to go.

#77If only Panther were here, he said under his breath.
