#25I wandered through the passage until I found the very nice hotel, just as you said.

#26When I found the others again, they were behind this door.

#27They were angry.

#28They'd been here all night, trying to get out.

#29Jimmy's eyes were wide with fear.

#30Here, take the ring, Gerald whispered.

#31Jimmy put on the ring and instantly looked braver.

#32But what happened to the caretaker?

#33Gerald asked again.

#34He suddenly opened the door.

#35Before I could protect him, the man in the top hat hit him.

#36I was just going for help when you arrived.

#37We must find the others, said Gerald.

#38They've gone to bathe in the lake, said the Ugly-Wugly.

#39Their clothes are in the woods.

#40Kathleen and Jimmy went to check on the other Ugly-Wuglies.

#41Gerald and Mabel stayed behind to tend to the caretaker.

#42The Ugly-Wugly sat down on the temple steps.

#43In the woods Jimmy found four heaps of clothing.

#44There were broomsticks, hockey sticks, and masks.

#45All these things had made up the Ugly-Wugly men.

#46Kathleen found the two ladies sitting on a bench in the sun.

#47But they had no life in them.

#48Jimmy shook them to pieces.

#49The spell is broken.

#50Kathleen sighed with relief.

#51They went back to the Temple of Flora.

#52The caretaker was trying to sit up.

#53Gerald told the Ugly-Wugly to hide in the bushes so he wouldn't frighten the caretaker.

#54Jimmy is the best one to go with you, said Gerald.

#55That was true because Jimmy had the ring.

#56The children helped the caretaker to his feet.

#57Are you sure you're all right?

#58Mabel asked him.

#59But I had the strangest dream.

#60He looked around.

#61I'm grateful for your help.

#62You may visit here whenever you like.

#63They all shook hands, and the caretaker walked away.

#64We have to get rid of that Ugly-Wugly, said Kathleen.

#65But how? asked Gerald.

#66He became real inside the passage.

#67If we could just get him back there . . .

#68Suddenly Jimmy came out of the bushes.

#69The Ugly-Wugly is taking a walk, Jimmy said.

#70He says he's a very rich businessman and he needs to get to London.

#71Gerald and the girls were still planning how to get rid of the Ugly-Wugly.

#72But Jimmy wasn't paying attention.

#73He has a car and a tennis court.

#74I wish I were rich, said Jimmy.

#75I'd spend my money on . . .

#76Oh no! cried the girls, looking at Jimmy.

#77Suddenly he was growing rich right in front of them.

#78But he was also growing older.

#79When the changes stopped, the girls gasped.

#80Do you know the way to the train station? asked rich, old Jimmy.
