#19In France, St. Patrick became a priest.

#20When St. Patrick was about sixty years old, he returned to Ireland.

#22Almost everybody loved Patrick.

#23He carried a shamrock with him.

#24A shamrock is a three-leaf clover.

#25St. Patrick used a shamrock to teach people about God.

#26According to legend, St. Patrick drove out all the snakes in Ireland.

#27Snakes were a symbol of evil.

#28St. Patrick wanted to remove all evil from Ireland.

#29When St. Patrick died, the people of Ireland were very sad.

#30They decided to honor his death.

#31That's how St. Patrick's Day began.

#32Can you guess why we are all wearing green?

#33Green is the color of spring!

#34Since St. Patrick died in the spring, we wear green to show that we honor him.

#35A four-leaf clover, that's a sign of good luck!

#36On St. Patrick's Day, it is good luck to find a four-leaf clover.

#37As for me, I'm a leprechaun.

#38I am part of St. Patrick's Day because I am Irish too!
