#29gasped Vinnie.

#30I remember, he was on some steps.

#31Vinnie took the picture out.

#32It was glowing blue.

#33We must be very close, he said.

#34What are those?

#35Mandy pointed to the glowing objects in the photo.

#36She looked around.

#37Vinnie!

#38Look!

#39She pointed to the bottom of the steps.

#40Statues!

#41Mandy looked at the photo again.

#42I can't tell what they are!

#43she shouted.

#44Vinnie peered at the photo.

#45Then he looked down at the stone objects.

#46There's only one way to find out!

#47he said.

#48He grabbed his sister's hand and headed back down the steps.

#49The guards began running toward the children.

#50The crowd below went wild.

#51The drums beat louder.

#52Hang on!

#53Vinnie climbed onto a huge stone ramp.

#54He slid all the way down.

#55Mandy followed.

#56They got to the bottom and saw that the statues were dragons.

#57The photo glowed red.

#58Vinnie!

#59Mandy!

#60Mazatl called.

#61They looked at their new friend.

#62Thanks for everything, Mazatl!

#63Mandy called out.

#64Don't worry about us.

#65We're going home, Vinnie shouted.

#66Vinnie and Mandy held hands and closed their eyes.

#67The noise of the crowd faded as the children fell down the dark tunnel.

#68Ohhh!

#69Vinnie and Mandy landed safely back in the attic.

#70That was a close call, Mandy said.

#71Vinnie nodded.

#75I'm coming!

#76she yelled.

#77She winked at Vinnie and ran downstairs.

#86His dad was looking up while mowing the lawn.

#92After his close call with the Aztecs, mowing the lawn didn't seem that bad.
