#37Puzzled, Vinnie and Mandy said together, Organs?

#38They just received a new dead body today, Akhom said, nodding.

#39Today Tau, my brother, will embalm his first body.

#40Embalm?

#41Vinnie repeated.

#42That means preparing a dead body to make it into a mummy, explained Mandy.

#43She had read about this in one of her books.

#44Mummies?

#45Vinnie's eyes got big.

#47He ran after Akhom.

#48Mandy had no choice but to follow them.

#51The outdoor market was crowded.

#52All kinds of things— fruits, vegetables, spices, pottery, wigs, and jewelry—were displayed on mats and stools.

#53Curious and no longer afraid, Mandy wandered more slowly down the street.

#54She saw a woman trade a cucumber for a small bag of spices.

#55Another man traded a sack of corn for a skinny cow.

#56Smiling, Mandy stopped at a fruit stall.

#59She had never seen anything like it before.

#60It was bigger than an apple.
