#16He fell to his knees and groaned again.

#18I'm inside you! said Wukong.

#19I changed myself into a pill to trick you.

#20Now I'm going to practice some of my fighting skills!

#21The monkey punched and kicked the bear's insides.

#22Aargh! cried the Black Wind King, rolling on the floor.

#23Wukong jumped up and down, did flips, and ran around in circles.

#24Please stop! shouted the Black Wind King.

#25You're hurting my belly!

#26Give back the robe, said Guanyin.

#27I will, I promise! said the bear.

#28I will do anything you say!

#29Just please tell the monkey to stop!

#30Guanyin held up a metal headband.

#31It looked just like the one on Wukong's head.

#32She placed it on the bear's head.

#33Wukong, come out now, said Guanyin.

#34A tiny Wukong popped out of the Black Wind King's nose.

#35He quickly grew to his normal size.

#36Where's the robe? asked the monkey.

#37The bear pointed to a dark room in the back of the cave.

#38After Wukong left to get the robe, the Black Wind King charged at Guanyin.

#39But the bear was too slow.

#40Guanyin threw four more metal bands at him.

#41Two clamped onto his wrists.

#42The other two clamped onto his ankles.

#43When the bodhisattva began reciting a spell, the bear screamed.

#44Please stop!

#45Do you promise to be good? asked Guanyin.

#46Yes! answered the Black Wind King.

#47I promise.

#48Wukong came back with the robe.

#49When he saw the bear, he laughed.

#50You have five of those bands!

#51The Black Wind King looked at the ground and sighed.

#52I got the robe, Bodhisattva, said the monkey.

#53What should we do with the bear?

#54I will show him mercy, said Guanyin.

#55He can be my guardian on Mount Potalaka if he behaves.

#56The bodhisattva led the bear out of the cave and vanished.

#57* * * Wukong flew back to the monastery.

#58You got the robe! cried the Tang Monk when he saw the monkey.

#59I did, said Wukong.

#60The two travelers headed west again.

#61Wukong told the monk about his adventure with the Black Wind King.

#62I destroyed the Daoist priest, the monkey explained.

#63He was really an evil wolf spirit.

#64Then Guanyin made herself look like him.

#65And you turned yourself into a pill, said the Tang Monk.

#66And I went right into that bear's belly.

#67Wukong laughed.

#68He was very surprised!

#69The Tang Monk smiled.

#70I think we both learned a valuable lesson, Wukong.

#71I will never show anyone the robe again.

#72That's a good idea, said Wukong.

#73The robe is a gift from Buddha.

#74We must be careful . . .

#75He stopped talking and pulled out his iron bar.

#76There's a spirit nearby.

#77He looked toward a nearby cave.

#78There was a snort.

#79The Tang Monk shook with fear.

#80A pig-like creature leaped from the cave, swinging a heavy rake.
