#17She still wasn't getting much sleep because of bad dreams about monsters.

#18We let Molly sleep and played cards without her.

#19I was getting sleepy myself when I heard the wail of a fire engine.

#20Then came the sound of a smoke detector in our building.

#21Molly woke up suddenly.

#22Is the apartment on fire? she cried.

#23No, my mom said.

#24Everything is fine here.

#25I glanced at the fire in our fireplace.

#26The fire was almost out.

#27But the sound of the siren was really close now.

#28I ran to our front windows and looked out.

#29The fire truck stopped in front of our building!

#30I cried.

#31And the firefighters are jumping out!

#32My mom looked alarmed.

#33We'd better get out of the building fast! she said.

#34Most of the people who lived in our building were already standing outside on the sidewalk.

#35Chen was there, and Molly's mom and dad were there with Caswell.

#36They rushed over and gave Molly a hug.

#37I called the fire department, said Molly's dad.

#38Our TV exploded!

#39Most little kids would be scared.

#40But not Caswell!

#41Instead he was grinning and looking pretty excited.

#42There was a big bang and lots of smoke!

#43We watched the firefighters enter the buidling.

#44They were wearing special helmets and carrying long hoses.

#45Soon they came outside again.

#46One was carrying Molly's TV.

#47Everything is fine, the firefighter told Molly's parents.

#48Except for your TV, added another firefighter.

#49I guess you'll need to buy a new one.

#50Maybe one of the monsters from Monster Madness made it explode, said Caswell.

#51The first firefighter laughed.

#52I don't think that was the reason, he said.

#53The fire was probably caused by the lightning.

#54Thank goodness we're all safe! said Mrs.

#55I noticed that Molly didn't look sleepy anymore.

#56She looked happy.

#57Just before we all went back inside, she leaned over to me.

#58Iggy, she whispered.

#59This is the best thing that ever happened!

#60The fire truck coming to our building?

#61I said in surprise.

#62No, said Molly.

#63My family's TV exploding.

#64She grinned.

#65No more watching Monster Madness after school everyday!

#66I nodded.

#67I hadn't invented anything to solve Molly's problem, but it had solved itself.

#68Molly didn't have to worry about scary monster shows anymore.

#69Molly's parents left the TV sitting out on the curb.

#70Good-bye, TV! said Molly happily.

#71There was one thing she didn't expect though.

#72Her mom and dad bought another TV the next day!

#73So Caswell and Lucy went back to watching Monster Madness .

#74And poor Molly went back to not sleeping.
