#23Once again, I felt the ground shake as a giant came closer.

#24Suddenly, his huge foot was right above me.

#26I screamed as loud as I could.

#27The giant took a step backward and looked around for a few seconds.

#28When he saw me, he picked me up gently between his forefinger and thumb and lifted me to his eye level.

#29I was so high in the air that I decided not to struggle.

#43He spoke to me in his language, but his voice was so loud that it hurt my ears.

#44I spoke to him in all the languages I knew, but we could not understand each other.

#45The master spread his handkerchief on his hand and put his hand near the ground.

#46Then he made signs for me to step onto his hand.

#47I did so and lay down.

#48He folded his handkerchief around me so that I would not fall off his hand.

#49Walking slowly, he carried me to his house.

#50When we arrived there, he called his wife and showed me to her.
