#23Tell him that I will have my chief official write up an agreement.

#24Then your king and I will sign it.

#25I was surprised, but happy to hear Lilliput's king say this.

#26The two countries would no longer be at war.

#27The next day, the Blufuscan officials came to see me.

#28"'Our king has heard of your refusal to take the rest of his ships,' the chief official said.

#29"'He asked me to thank you.

#30He thinks you are a generous giant.

#31He invites you to come to Blufuscu for a visit.'"

#32"'I would be delighted to travel to Blufuscu and meet your king,' I replied.

#33"'I will ask the king of Liliput for his permission to visit soon.'"

#34The Blufuscans were no longer angry with me for taking their ships.

#35I was happy that they were ready to forgive and forget.

#36Our meeting continued for a few hours.

#37The Blufuscan officials were curious about me.

#38They had never met a giant before, and they asked me many questions.

#39Would you do something to show us how strong you are?

#40One asked.

#42I replied.

#43Just outside my house was a large rock.

#50Come to visit us soon in Blufusku, he said.

#51I will give a good report of you to our king.

#52A few days later, I had a chance to speak to the king of Liliput.

#53Your majesty, I said, the king of Blufusku has invited me to visit his island.

#54I would like to go.

#55May I have your permission, please? Yes.

#56The king replied, although his manner was quite cold.

#57You may visit Blufuscu, but let me know before you leave Lilliput.
