#25When Nello and Patrasche picked up their milk, the villagers just looked at the ground.

#27You are very cruel to Nello, the miller's wife said to her husband.

#29Maybe Nello was upset that he couldn't see Alois anymore.

#44No one came to visit Nello's grandfather or left extra milk at their door.

#46A man from Antwerp started to deliver milk with a large wagon and a mule.

#47Most villagers stopped giving their milk to Nello to deliver.

#48Instead of twenty customers, now Nello had only four.

#49Patrasche did not understand the change.

#50In the mornings, he would stop, as always, at all the familiar gates.

#51Now the gates stayed closed.

#52Patrasche had less milk to carry in the green cart, and Nello had fewer coins in his pocket.
